Hannah Frady

Hello readers! Welcome to my blog. My name is Hannah, NOT Hannah Montana, and I guess you could say I’m a kind of basic white girl with an extra dash of awkward. I talk to loud, laugh too much, and frequently spend way too much time on my makeup. I can be very cliché but hey! At least you should be able to relate. I’m writing this blog primarily for my ENC 2135 class but after that we’ll see where it goes! If you want to know more than you’d ever need to know about me just keep scrolling.

My intended major is Elementary education.

I adore kids because I am one. I love cartoons, role playing, Disney movies, finger painting, rolling down hills, and occasionally getting milk at Starbucks just because I’m in the mood. Most adults see extra activities like crafts as a hassle but I’ve never seen it as a burden. I still ask for a coloring menu when I go to the restaurant. The hostess will always give me a puzzled look. They proceed in getting one for me only after assuring me that you must be ten or under to order off the menu.

After getting some teaching experience under my belt, I hope to earn my masters in administration and become a principal. My grandmother was a principal.

I’ve always hoped to become at least half of the person she was. Though I know administration is a very big responsibility, I know I would love it. There’s just something about playing such a big role in your community. I want to be the one everyone recognizes out on the town and tells me how well their child is doing. I want to make a difference. I’m not naive enough to believe that I can completely change the world. But in a way, changing one person’s life can change their kid’s lives and generations to come. In my eyes, if I can help just that one person, I will be changing the world.

You had me at hello

My favorite things in life are the little things.

I love nuzzling into a fuzzy blanket with a cup of green tea and listening to the sound of rain. I will always prefer the feeling of a rough paperback book over a pdf. I like becoming annoyed with myself when I can’t separate the pages. I just get too eager to see what comes next… or my fingers get to dry. But I prefer the to say I just get to eager.

I’m a total romantic!

Audrey Hepburn and Barbra Streisand hold my hopeless heart in their talented little hands. Though I do utilize social media, it saddens me seeing what it’s done to today’s dating world. Try explaining to your grandparents what the difference between talking and dating is, they won’t know what to do with themselves. I speak from experience. When I watch old romance movies I very closely resemble a kid staring in awe at a toy he wants displayed in the store front window.

My love for old romances like the movie Funny girl planted a seed in my heart.

That seed bloomed into a love for theatre. There’s nothing quite like sitting in those plush red velvet seats that smell like your grandparents living room, getting a rush of anticipation as the lights dim and being glued to the stage as the curtain opens. Wicked is my current favorite Broadway play and Indina Menzel blows my mind. The Phantom of the Opera will be the next play I see in the big apple over this upcoming spring break.

Like most of you should be, I’m a huge FSU fan.

My parents are both alumni. They met each other after moving to Tallahassee, fell in love, and down the road had my twin brother and me. Yes, I have a twin brother. No, he does not go to FSU.

The answer to your last question is also a no, we are not identical. I know what you’re thinking, “Wow you must think we’re pretty silly, reminding us that a boy and girl are fraternal twins.”

Well you’d be surprised! I get that question at least twice a month. That’s at least 24 times a year people.

Lastly, one day I want to travel the world.

Part of becoming wise is traveling and obtaining a worldly view. My goal is to learn as much as I can and take photos as I do. I’ve always wanted to have stacks of photo albums that are full of the corners of the world. Pictures really do tell a thousand words. As eager as I am to teach, I’m just as eager to learn. Learning about other cultures continues to deepen my understanding of life. I’ve only been out of the country a couple of times to Canada and the Bahamas. But that’s just scratching the surface and I can’t wait to see where life takes me.
